This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.
Columbia Correctional Institution: On August 6, inmate Jamar Ghent (435970) assaulted three officers by punching them in the face multiple times. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries.
Lake Correctional Institution: On August 6, inmate Mikka Hennix (K70029) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Northwest Florida Reception Center: On August 6, inmate Leonard Ashley (306588) assaulted an officer by striking them with a food tray. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Northwest Florida Reception Center: On August 7, inmate Rancifer Brown (H05328) assaulted an officer by punching them in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Suwannee Correctional Institution: On August 7, inmate Sebastian Hill (K72524) assaulted an officer by grabbing and pulling them down. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Wakulla Annex: On August 7, inmate Robert Keith (386036) assaulted two officers by striking them in the upper torso. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Marion Correctional Institution: On August 9, inmate Alexander Miller (193374) assaulted two officers by punching one in the face and biting another on the chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries.
Reception and Medical Center: On August 9, inmate Steven Pettit (P61634) assaulted two officers by grabbing them and attempting to pull them to the ground. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Florida Women’s Reception Center: On August 10, inmate Lauren Whitlow (N60139) assaulted an officer by throwing a dust pan striking the officer in the abdomen. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Desoto Annex: On August 10, inmate Kory McMullen (I41690) assaulted an officer by punching them in the face multiple times. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Hamilton Annex: On August 10, inmate Robert Spears (723732) assaulted an officer by grabbing and shoving them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Columbia Annex: On August 11, inmate Malachi Cruse (V26464) assaulted an officer by pinning the officer’s hands against a door with his hand restraints. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Cross City Correctional Institution: On August 12, inmate Anthony Earnest (897745) assaulted an officer by pushing them into a wall. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Suwannee Correctional Institution: On August 12, inmate Daniel Gonzales (M94062) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Gulf Correctional Institution: On August 12, inmate Linzy Alaston (R70778) assaulted an officer by striking them on the hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Florida Women’s Reception Center: On August 12, inmate Lianyanely Prieto (X82395) assaulted an staff member by kicking them in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Marion Correctional Institution: On August 12, inmate Davarius Henderson (F00143) assaulted an officer by striking them on the hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Charlotte Correctional Institution: On August 12, inmate Claude Jones (I43093) assaulted an officer by pushing them down. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
