Downtown Perry’s historic neighborhood district located along the west end of Green Street was awash in blue lights Friday morning, April 27, as members of the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the home of a suspected methamphetamine distributor.

Trafficking amounts of the illegal drug was seized at the residence, and one suspect, Joseph Brian Stafford, 48, was taken into custody.

Multiple agencies were involved in this operation including, Perry Police, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Highway Patrol. Task Force members wish to thank Troop H Major Chris Blackmon for his support.

Stafford was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Investigators seized 61 grams of meth while executing a search warrant at his home on West Green Street.
