PUBLIC SUGGESTIONS:

1.  4-day work week

2.  Stop transporting students within the 2-mile limit.

3.  Charge charter schools the full cost of transporting their students if more than FTE.

4.  Do away with supplemental positions that only have charter school participants (Golf)

5.  Stop transporting JMPHS students to MCHS during the day.  We don’t transport MCHS students to NFCC for dual enrollment.

6.  Drop some 12 month positions to 11 months.

7.  Ask for resignations.

8.  Do an across the board 3% salary cut & freeze raises – ask for teacher support outside the union.

9.  Ask some parents to drive kids to school.

10. Do not purchase new curricula where reasonable.

11.  Have parents buy some books and supplies.

12.  Teach only core academic subjects.

13.  Invite homeschoolers to re-enroll and let them keep their homeschool curricula and work remotely part-time.

14. Allow students with 3.5 GPA who can complete some work at home to have a 3 day school week.

15. Consider other options that are less expensive than the iReady program.  

16. Discontinue Accelerated Reader program.

17.  Be conscious about lights, electricity, water, etc. by turning off all electronics when not needed.

18.  Combine jobs where possible.

19. Do not purchase curriculum that is redundant.

20. Furlough days

21. Move district office and sell buildings where it is currently housed.
