Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Chauncey Goss to the South Florida Water Management District Board

Naples, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Chauncey Goss to the Board of the South Florida Water Management District.

“It’s time for a fresh start and new leadership to ensure the protection of our water resources,” said Governor DeSantis. “I’m pleased to announce my appointment of Chauncey to the Board of the South Florida Water Management District. He is solutions-oriented and will help initiate the change and ideas necessary to accomplish our goals.”

Chauncey Goss, 52, is the managing partner of Goss Practical Solutions, a budget forecasting and geopolitical analysis firm in Sanibel, Florida. Prior to starting the firm, Goss served as Deputy Staff Director and Director of Budget Review for the House Budget Committee under Congressman Paul Ryan. A longtime resident of Southwest Florida, Goss serves on the boards of Captains for Clean Water (Treasurer), the Southwest Florida Community Foundation (Executive Committee), the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation and the United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades and Okeechobee Counties. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Area Studies from Rollins College and a Master’s in Public Policy from Georgetown University.

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.

Governor Ron DeSantis Announces His Intent to Appoint Ron Bergeron to the South Florida Water Management District Board

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced his intent to appoint Ron M. Bergeron to the Board of the South Florida Water Management District.

“I am happy to announce my plans to appoint Alligator Ron Bergeron to the Board of the South Florida Water Management District,” said Governor DeSantis. “His commitment to the protection and restoration of the Everglades is unmatched and I think he will be a tremendous leader for South Florida.”

Ronald M. Bergeron, 75, is the Founder and CEO of Bergeron Family of Companies. Bergeron started his first business, Bergeron Land Development, in 1965 and he is now one of the most successful and largest site development and roadway contractors in the State of Florida. In addition to his entrepreneurial efforts overseeing more than 40 successful companies, “Alligator Ron,” as he is known throughout Florida, has devoted considerable time and resources to protecting Florida’s wildlife and conservation efforts of the Florida Everglades. He has served two five-year terms as a board member of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, including serving as the Florida Wildlife Conservation Point Commissioner over the entire Florida Everglades.

The appointment will be subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
