On Thursday, May 19, 2016, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office along with Homeland Security shared with the 6th through 8th-grade students at Madison Academy Internet Safety and the potential dangers associated with the use of social media. Lt. William Sircy-MCSO, and Special Agent Nathan Curtis-HIS, talked with the kids about the do’s and don’ts of using social media.

The topics covered were protecting themselves from Online Predators, Sexting, and Cyber Bullying. It is the intention of the Sheriff’s office to educate our youth in Madison County so that they can make responsible decisions when using the internet and social media.
