FDC OIG Investigations Result in Three Arrests (Karen Williams, Debra Sanchez & Julie Osuna)

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — In conjunction with law enforcement partners, the Florida Department of Corrections’ (FDC) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) announced the arrests of Karen Williams, Debra Sanchez and Julie Osuna. The three visitors are charged with violations stemming from investigations into trafficking narcotics and introduction of contraband into FDC correctional institutions. The visitors were charged as follows:

Karen Williams
Possession of cocaine
Possession of MDMA
Possession of cannabis over 20 grams
Introduction of contraband

Debra Sanchez
Possession of heroin
Possession of marijuana with intent to sell
Possession of narcotic equipment
Introduction of a cellular device

Julie Osuna
Possession of marijuana with intent to sell
Introduction of contraband

Following the arrests, Williams was transported to the Jackson County Jail; Sanchez and Osuna were transported to the Holmes County Jail.

FDC continues comprehensive efforts to battle the introduction of dangerous and illegal contraband into state correctional institutions. The OIG acknowledges the cooperation and assistance provided by State Attorney Glenn Hess of the 14th Judicial Circuit of Florida, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
