This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.
PERRY, Fla. – On May 15, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Taylor Correctional Institution.
Inmate Seraphin Exantus (B12101) assaulted the officer at approximately 11:49 a.m. Inmate Exantus kicked the officer in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Exantus will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LAKE CITY, Fla. – On May 15, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Columbia Annex.
Inmate James White (H37725) assaulted the officers at approximately 11:05 a.m. Inmate White bit one officer on the hand and battered two others. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate White will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. – On May 15, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Wakulla Annex.
Inmate Curtis Johnson (369509) assaulted the officer at approximately 4:45 p.m. Inmate Johnson struck the officer’s arm. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Johnson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
MILTON, Fla. – On May 16, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.
Inmate Larry Richardson (618999) assaulted the officer at approximately 8:01 a.m. Inmate Richardson used restraints to scratch the officer’s hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Richardson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
FLORIDA CITY, Fla. – On May 16, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Dade Correctional Institution.
Inmate Clifford Barnes (435834) assaulted the officer at approximately 11:40 a.m. Inmate Barnes struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Barnes will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
INDIANTOWN, Fla. – On May 17, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Martin Correctional Institution.
Inmate Jeffrey Haynes (K72806) assaulted the officers at approximately 6:40 p.m. Inmate Haynes bit the officer’s arm and grabbed another officer in the groin. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Haynes will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
MALONE, Fla. – On May 19, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Jackson Correctional Institution.
Inmate Shawn Johnson (906108) assaulted the officer at approximately 10:40 a.m. Inmate Johnson struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Johnson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LIVE OAK, Fla. – On May 19, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Suwannee Annex.
Inmate Charles Landon (050519) assaulted the officer at approximately 7:15 p.m. Inmate London kicked the officer in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Landon will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
OCALA, Fla. – On May 20, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Lowell Annex.
Inmate Shakeria Bargnare (P54180) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:06 p.m. Inmate Bargnare grabbed the officer’s hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Bargnare will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
OCALA, Fla. – On May 21, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida Women’s Reception Center.
Inmate Jessica Fruggiero (N22953) assaulted the officer at approximately 5:52 p.m. Inmate Fruggiero struck the officer in the hand and the hip. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Fruggiero will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
