One of the many duties of our Uniform Patrol Deputies is to observe and enforce traffic laws on our highways and county roadways.

Please refrain from “flashing your headlights to warn oncoming motorists of the presence of law enforcement up ahead”. While it may be courteous, it may also tip potential criminals who are in transit, such as when Deputy Fenton conducted a traffic stop on north US Hwy 19. During the stop, he learned that the passenger of the vehicle was an out-of-state fugitive wanted in Georgia for multiple felony charges. The subject was safely apprehended thanks to Deputy Fenton’s diligence. The subject, Daniel R Land 12/30/1987, of Moultrie, Ga was placed under arrest for warrants out of Colquitt County, Georgia for sell of methamphetamine.
