Are you interested in the field of public safety? Intrigued by a fast pace job? Then join our team of 911/Communications Officers at the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office. We are currently seeking applicants who are organized, adept to multi-tasking, level headed, and trustworthy. Full and Part Time available.

Our communications officers provide dispatch and communications support services for police, fire, and emergency medical services. The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator, able to remain calm and professional during emergency situations.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Be a citizen of the United States
• High school diploma
• Pass a criminal background check and drug screening
• Type 35wpm or enroll in an online typing class
• Possess excellent communications skills
• Complete a 10 week online Public Safety course
• Pass a state examination, Department of Health
