This is a perfect example of how we depend upon you, the members of our community, to help us combat crime. On Sunday, one of our dedicated residents was collecting trash along the roadway on Hampton Springs near Taylor Correctional Institution in an effort to keep our neighborhoods clean. During this effort, a tall aluminum can filled with cellphones and chargers was discovered. The citizen immediately called us to investigate. It appears unscrupulous persons had placed the cellphones there for an inmate work crew to retrieve at a later date. Thank you for helping us make our community safer!
