News Release (June 1, 2017)
Major David Harper of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 12:06 am, Deputy Jared Dewey stopped a vehicle driven by Dallas Raynorris Choice on SW Georgetown Road for a faulty equipment violation.

Deputy Dewey noticed that Choice attempted to conceal an orange pill bottle that was originally in a center cup holder of the vehicle. When questioned about the pill bottle, Choice attempted to produce a different pill bottle from the one that Deputy Dewey previously observed.

When questioned further, Choice denied having any illegal contraband inside the vehicle and provided consent to search the vehicle. During the search, Deputy Dewey located a glass smoking pipe that contained steel wool and a white residue. Deputy Dewey recognized the pipe as the same type commonly used to smoke crack cocaine.

Deputy Dewey also located a pill bottle under the passenger front seat that contained two pieces of crack cocaine.

A third pill bottle containing 37 Lorazepam tablets was located inside the center console.

Choice was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Madison County Jail.
