For the past several weeks, I have been inundated with traffic complaints, primarily during the morning commute hours. Colin Kelly Hwy, State Road 6, Rocky Ford, Little Cat, US 90 east and west, 53 north and south and the City Limits of Madison just to name a few.

Complaints are the same for each roadway. Speed, aggressive driving, tailgating and passing double yellow lines on hills and curves seem to be the commonality.

With 5 school zones (one requires two deputies) it has been hard to address them all. Well, no more.
/
I will bring in deputies to work these areas during this time, even if I have to pay overtime. I will be working these areas myself. Let it be known, share with your friends and family, the foolish driving stops.

It doesn’t matter who you know, where you work, who your parents are or what your last name is. I strongly suggest you set your alarm clock about thirty minutes earlier so you have plenty of time to reach your destination responsibly. This includes putting your cell phone down while driving through the school zones. Our children deserve it.

For those who drive with common sense and respect, I thank you. For everyone else, this is the last and only warning you get.
