From Madison County Sheriff’s Office:

It’s that time again!!!

School zones will be extremely congested with vehicle traffic. Historically the school zones at Madison County Central, Madison County High and Madison Creative Arts Academy have created the most confusion. The traffic flow pattern this year will be very similar to last year.

Madison County Central School:

East Side Drop Off – Utilize East entrance with exit out of back gate onto Captain Brown Road to return to Madison or follow the back connecting road to the High School where exiting both directions is permitted. Exit will not be permitted via the East entrance.
West Side Drop Off – Utilize West entrance and exit East onto highway 90. Re-enter the campus via the East entrance and travel the back road connecting the High School and continue to the front campus entrance / exit where exiting in both directions will be permitted. Westbound exit from Madison County Central will not be permitted.

Madison County High School:
East and West exit will be permitted.

Madison Creative Arts Academy:
East and West exit will be permitted.

It is the goal of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office to keep traffic flowing efficiently with minimal delays. Please allow yourself extra time and exercise patience as the new school year gets underway.

The first week always presents the majority of traffic issues as everyone is getting accustomed to where they need to go.

Please eliminate distractive driving such as texting while driving. Be alert and prepared for sudden stops by vehicles and buses.

Remember that nearly every vehicle in these areas during the morning and afternoon hours with be transporting children.

Thank you for your cooperation and let’s have a great school year!!!
