MPD would like to reiterate the importance of this broadcast concerning the upcoming road closure for the traveling public.
It is anticipated that Harvey Greene Drive (HGD) will be closed starting Tuesday, May 3, 2016 for approximately 1 week to Monday, May 9, 2016.
The purpose of the road closure is to complete repairs spawned by a gas leak last March. MPD, in conjunction with the City of Madison, FHP, DOT and Florida Gas Transmission are making every effort to keep the local community and traveling public informed of these repairs. Through traffic into the Industrial Park will not be allowed.
Motorists and employees of the Industrial Park who need to access this area must do so from State Road (SR) 14/HGD at the caution light near the Madison County Senior Citizens’ building and the Emergency Operation Center. Tractor trailers and log trucks traveling from South to North on SR 14 will need to continue North on SR 14 to Millinor. Turn right on Millinor (East) to connect with HWY 53 (Duval) to continue North. Millinor Street will intersect with SR 14 (Range) to the West and HWY 53 to the East.
Local motorists traveling South on Range Street should exercise extreme caution when approaching Millinor as there could be a tractor trailer attempting to make a turn to proceed East or South at this intersection during this time period.
NOTE: LOG TRUCKS AND TRACTOR TRAILERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TRAVEL THROUGH DOWNTOWN CITY STREETS. ALL TRACTOR TRAILER TYPE TRUCKS MUST DETOUR AT MILLION TO CONNECT WITH HWY 53 OR SR 14 DURING THIS REPAIR PERIOD.
