The recent release of information on the Federal Bureau of Investigations website has linked a person suspected of being a serial killer to the City of Perry. This release has generated numerous phone calls and requests for information related to Sam Little, the person identified as a serial killer and an unidentified person that could be one of his victims. Most of these requests have been from media outlets and concerned citizens of the Perry / Taylor County Community.
Unfortunately, there is not much information that can be released at this time, this is necessary to preserve the integrity of an already complex investigation. This investigation has the potential to affect other law enforcement agencies in the North Florida Area as well as law enforcement agencies in other states. Any information that is released has to be thoroughly vetted, ensuring that anything that is released is not law enforcement sensitive and is only serves to generate additional information that can be utilized in the investigations. The Perry Police Department when possible will release more information when necessary to serve the “people’s right to know”.

There is a missing person case from the early 1990’s that could be related to Sam Little. The remains of the missing person have been found and positively identified. The recovered missing person may be a potential victim of Sam Little. The nearest living relatives of the missing person have been notified, they know that the missing person portion of the case no longer active. There is not enough information at this time to definitively confirm that the missing person was a victim of Sam Little. There is enough consistency in the local case when compared to other known victims of Sam Little to make detectives of the Perry Police Department reasonably believe that Little could be a suspect in this case. This investigation is on-going and will continue with the ultimate goal of successfully closing this investigation with a positive result.
