METH ARREST IN TAYLOR COUNTY

While many of you were at work today, deputies were busy patrolling your neighborhoods, on the lookout for thieves. They were also conducting proactive traffic enforcement in problem areas from Steinhatchee to Shady Grove.

Following a traffic stop on Donaldson Bridge Road at CR 14, the sheriff’s drug task force discovered the driver to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, digital scales, and plastic baggies.

During the stop, Capt. Jimmy Cash deployed K-9 Titan who indicated a positive alert to the odor of illicit narcotics coming from the vehicle. A subsequent search led to the seizure.

The driver, identified as Billy Thomas Williamson of Perry, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of -20 grams marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff Padgett is committed in seeking out those who manufacture, distribute, or use illegal drugs in Taylor County. Remember, if you see something, say something.
