News Release (April 15, 2019)
Major David Harper of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office reports that in response to multiple complaints received from the public regarding illegal drug activity taking place at the Madison Heights Apartment Complex, located at 150 SW Bumgardner Drive, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force initiated an investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics spanning over several weeks at the public housing complex.
As a result, DTF Investigators were able to obtain evidence and probable cause to secure a residential narcotic search warrant and arrest warrants for individuals involved in illegal drug activity at the public housing complex.
During the early hours of Friday, April 12, 2019, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. Team executed a search warrant and arrest warrants at the apartment of Jeremy Jermaine Irvine. Once the apartment was secured Irvine was arrested for active warrants without further incident.
The apartment was turned over to investigators where additional evidence supporting the arrest and search warrant was located.
A short time later, Shavaris Banard Brown turned himself in to officers at the Madison County Jail on active arrest warrants relating to the possession and sale of illegal narcotics at the housing complex.
On Monday, April 15, 2019, DTF Investigators located Ja’Taevious Jacquez Lenard Sims and arrested him on active narcotic arrest warrants obtained during the housing complex investigation.
The investigation into other potential suspects continues and more arrests are expected.
