Gale Parkinson, (BROWARD COUNTY), CLAIMS TOP PRIZE FROM THE NEW $1,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE SCRATCH-OFF GAME

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Lottery announces that Gale Parkinson, 68, of Weston, claimed a $1,000 a week top prize from the new $1,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $810,000.00.

Parkinson purchased her winning ticket from Publix, located at 2465 Glades Circle in Weston. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

The new $1,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE Scratch-Off game launched on July 1 and features over 9.8 million winning tickets, including eight top prizes of $1,000 a week for life! Overall odds of winning are one-in-4.43.

Scratch-Offs are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, generating more than $871 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in FY 2017-18, and comprising approximately 69 percent of ticket sales.
