CROSS CITY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Corrections’ (FDC) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) announced the arrest of former Correctional Officer Mercedes Jenkins and former Correctional Officer Trainee Jayme Calvert. Jenkins and Calvert are both charged with introduction of contraband on unrelated cases.
Following the arrest, Jenkins and Calvert were transported to the Dixie County Jail. The OIG acknowledges the cooperation and assistance provided by State Attorney Jeffrey A. Siegmeister of the 3rd Judicial Circuit of Florida and the Dixie County Sheriff’s Office.
