FDC Assault Advisories | March 16 – April 2, 2018
This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.
BLOUNTSTOWN, Fla. – On March 16, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Calhoun Correctional Institution.
Inmate Sammy Cochran (T16882) assaulted the officer at approximately 5:00 p.m. Inmate Cochran kneed the officer in the torso. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Cochran will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
CRESTVIEW, Fla. – On March 17, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Okaloosa Correctional Institution.
Inmate Travis Frazier (Q19118) assaulted the officer at approximately 12:51 a.m. Inmate Frazier head-butted the officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Frazier will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
DORAL, Fla. – On March 17, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at South Florida Reception Center.
Inmate Daniel Ventresca (146468) assaulted the officers at approximately 3:00 p.m. Inmate Ventresca kicked the officers. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Ventresca will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
RAIFORD, Fla. – On March 18, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida State Prison.
Inmate Colin Harris (P58524) assaulted the officer at approximately 10:04 a.m. Inmate Harris scratched the officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Harris will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LAKE BUTLER, Fla. – On March 18, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Reception and Medical Center.
Inmate Josias Deshommes (C06489) assaulted the officers at approximately 3:38 p.m. Inmate Deshommes bit one officer and grabbed another officer’s hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Deshommes will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LOWELL, Fla. – On March 20, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Marion Correctional Institution.
Inmate Bryan Dodd (M12533) assaulted the officer at approximately 9:42 a.m. Inmate Dodd kicked the officer in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Dodd will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
DE FUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. – On March 21, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Walton Correctional Institution.
Inmate Georgio Williams (U44953) assaulted the officer at approximately 1:55 a.m. Inmate Williams grabbed the officer by the throat. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Williams will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LAKE CITY, Fla. – On March 21, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Columbia Annex.
Inmate Cabe Williams (194496) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:09 a.m. Inmate Williams struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Williams will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
FLORIDA CITY, Fla. – On March 21, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Dade Correctional Institution.
Inmate Jamie Knowles (M86421) assaulted the officer at approximately 9:20 a.m. Inmate Knowles struck the officer in the head and the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Knowles will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
PERRY, Fla. – On March 22, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Taylor Correctional Institution.
Inmate Darrell Bush (B12694) assaulted the officers at approximately 7:58 a.m. Inmate Bush struck the officers in the face and the chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Taylor will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
MILTON, Fla. – On March 23, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.
Inmate Gary Whitehead (L50411) assaulted the officer at approximately 9:30 a.m. Inmate Whitehead struck the officer in the waist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Taylor will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
CHIPLEY, Fla. – On March 24, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Northwest Florida Reception Center.
Inmate John Souter (079286) assaulted the officer at approximately 8:10 a.m. Inmate Souter struck the officer in the head. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Souter will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
CLERMONT, Fla. – On March 25, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Lake Correctional Institution.
Inmate Ricardo Harris (X60353) assaulted the officer at approximately10:20 a.m. Inmate Harris head-butted the officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Harris will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
BRISTOL, Fla. – On March 26, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Liberty Correctional Institution.
Inmate Eglis Despaigne (M72122) assaulted the officer at approximately 2:00 p.m. Inmate Despaigne struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Despaigne will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
RAIFORD, Fla. – On March 26, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Union Correctional Institution.
Inmate James Murzike (L07713) assaulted the officer at approximately 12:00 p.m. Inmate Mursike struck the officer’s arm with a food tray. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Murzike will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
MADISON, Fla. – On March 28, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Madison Correctional Institution.
Inmate Albert Fletcher (103121) assaulted the officer at approximately 3:00 p.m. Inmate Fletcher pushed the officer and struggled with the officer on the ground. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Media staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Fletcher will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LAKE BUTLER, Fla. – On March 30, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Reception and Medical Center.
Inmate Brutwaun Griffin (J60784) assaulted the officer at approximately 9:44 a.m. Inmate Griffin kicked the officer in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Griffin will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
DE FUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. – On March 31, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Walton Correctional Institution.
Inmate Frederick Hunter (W47112) assaulted the officers at approximately 1:50 p.m. Inmate Hunter pushed the officers into each other. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Hunter will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LAKE BUTLER, Fla. – On April 1, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Reception and Medical Center.
Inmate Tony Rosa (R11625) assaulted the officer at approximately 12:26 a.m. Inmate Rosa kicked the officer in the eye. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Rosa will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
FLORIDA CITY, Fla. – On April 1, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Dade Correctional Institution.
Inmate Rizterrious Robinson N18384 assaulted the officer at approximately 10:45 a.m. Inmate Robinson bit an officer and struck another officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Robinson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
DE FUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. – On April 1, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Walton Correctional Institution.
Inmate Kelvin Brown (A51451) assaulted the officer at approximately 1:15 p.m. Inmate Brown struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Brown will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
