Five fallen officers and one K9 honored among family, friends and community
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) recognized five Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) officers and one K9 during this year’s Annual Law Enforcement Memorial Service in Tallahassee. Hosted at the Florida Capitol Courtyard, this event also recognized all 2019 and 2020 law enforcement line of duty deaths across the state.
“The courage and selfless service of these fallen heroes is remarkable,” said FDC Secretary Mark Inch. “This event brings the entire law enforcement community together to pay tribute to the sacrifices made by these brave men and women while showing the utmost support and honor to the loved ones they leave behind.”
The Florida FOP was chartered on January 16, 1950 in Lake Worth, Florida and currently serves nearly 20,000 members in 100 local lodges across the State. The national Fraternal Order of Police has over 328,000 members in over 2,100 lodges nationwide.
