FDC Assault Advisories | September 25 – October 1, 2018
This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.
Martin Correctional Institution – On September 25, inmate Cal Miller (X94623) assaulted an officer at approximately 8:15 a.m. Inmate Miller struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Miller will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Santa Rosa Annex – On September 25, inmate Keith McCray (Q32280) assaulted two officers at approximately 12:10 p.m. Inmate McCray grabbed both officers and attempted to pull their arms through the cell flap. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Cabrera will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Sumter Correctional Institution – On September 25, inmate Jerron Pitts (I45423) assaulted an officer at approximately 6:20 p.m. Inmate Pitts shoved the officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Pitts will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Taylor Work Camp – On September 26, inmate Anthony Mangina (F70013) assaulted an officer at approximately 11:44 a.m. Inmate Mangina head-butted the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Mangina will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Lancaster Work Camp – On September 26, inmate Anthony Johnson (542781) assaulted two officers at approximately 11:37 p.m. Inmate Johnson became combative and began kicking and punching both officers. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Johnson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Desoto Annex – On September 27, inmate Dean Higgins (Y62706) assaulted an officer at approximately 7:40 a.m. Inmate Higgins bit the officer on the arm. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Higgins will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Lowell Annex – On September 28, inmate Beckie Dailey (K87093) assaulted three officers at approximately 4:15 p.m. Inmate Dailey became combative and kicked the officers in the legs. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Dailey will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Charlotte Correctional Institution – On September 29, inmate Glover Calloway (C90020) assaulted an officer at approximately 6:50 a.m. Inmate Calloway struck the officer in the shoulder. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Inmate Pitts will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Sumter Correctional Institution – On September 25, inmate Jerron Pitts (I45423) assaulted an officer at approximately 6:20 p.m. Inmate Pitts shoved the officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Pitts will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Avon Park Correctional Institution – On September 29, inmate John Ponder (666136) assaulted an officer at approximately 5:15 p.m. Inmate Ponder struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Ponder will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Florida State Prison – On September 29, inmate Emmanuel Drayton (B15685) assaulted an officer at approximately 9:48 p.m. Inmate Drayton bit the officer on the hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Drayton will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Marion Correctional Institution – On September 30, inmate Ericke Fisher (G03248) assaulted an officer at 1:47 p.m. Inmate Fisher kicked the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Fisher will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Sumter Correctional Institution – On October 1, inmate Daniel Downs (K73312) assaulted an officer at approximately 8:05 a.m. Inmate Downs grabbed the officers hand and attempted to pull the officer’s arm through the cell flap. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Downs will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Madison Correctional Institution – On October 1, inmate Ilisiah Williams (169639) assaulted an officer at approximately 11:03 p.m. Inmate Williams stabbed the officer multiple times with an improvised weapon. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. This incident is currently under investigation by the FDC Office of Inspector General.
