This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.
Wakulla Correctional Institution: On March 5, Inmate David Cervantes-Palafox (T08413) assaulted an officer by striking them in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Lake Correctional Institution: On March 5, Inmate Charles Fritzner (M77125) assaulted an officer by striking them with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Mayo Annex: On March 5, Inmate Jeremy Griffin (J24636) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Hardee Correctional Institution: On March 6, Inmate Edward Haney (133547) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Jefferson Correctional Institution: On March 7, Inmate Jerome Whitfield (099556) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Walton Correctional Institution: On March 7, Inmate Antone Deveaux (B11675) assaulted an officer by pushing them to the ground. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Santa Rosa Annex: On March 7, Inmate Daniel Rauch (D50717) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the hands. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Mayo Annex: On March 7, Inmate David Prestano (C07940) assaulted an officers by kicking and striking them with closed fists. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Lake Correctional Institution: On March 8, Inmate Freddie Smith (H16866) assaulted an officer by striking them in them in the shoulder. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On March 9, Inmate Remoi Campbell (Y62445) assaulted an officer by kicking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Okaloosa Correctional Institution: On March 10, Inmate Sammy Goodwin (149553) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Century Correctional Institution: On March 11, Inmate Demetrius Benjamin (B10997) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Calhoun Correctional Institution: On March 12, Inmate Joshua Rooso (K90216) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
