FDC Assault Advisories | July 3 – July 9, 2018

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.

LAKE CITY, Fla. – On July 3, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Columbia Annex.

Inmate Ricky Holly (130749) assaulted the officer at approximately 10:13 a.m. Inmate Holly struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Holly will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – On July 3, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Zephyrhills Correctional Institution.

Inmate Ronald Ingram (101242) assaulted the officer at approximately 11:37 a.m. Inmate Ingram struck the officer in the stomach. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Ingram will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

MILTON, Fla. – On July 3, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.

Inmate Tivarris Polite (X72822) assaulted the officer at approximately 9:55 a.m. Inmate Polite struck the officer in the face multiple times. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Polite will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

BOWLING GREEN, Fla. – On July 4, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Hardee Correctional Institution.

Inmate Joseph Harris (W39289) assaulted the officer at approximately 2:25 p.m. Inmate Harris struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Harris will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

LIVE OAK, Fla. – On July 5, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Suwannee Correctional Institution.

Inmate Nico Carter (A50055) assaulted the officer at approximately 9:08 a.m. Inmate Carter struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Carter will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

OCALA, Fla. – On July 5, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Lowell Annex.

Inmate Ayana Brown (D45265) assaulted the officers at approximately 12:04 p.m. Inmate Brown kicked one officer and kneed another. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Brown will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

MILTON, Fla. – On July 5, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.

Inmate Thomas Yednak (364620) assaulted the officers at approximately 4:21 p.m. Inmate Yednak became combative and attacked multiple officers. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Yednak will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

PERRY, Fla. – On July 5, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Taylor Annex.

Inmate Sandy Diaz (B15320) assaulted the officer at approximately 5:05 p.m. Inmate Diaz closed a door on the officer’s hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Diaz will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

RAIFORD, Fla. – On July 6, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida State Prison.

Inmate Timothy Austin (122218) assaulted the officer at approximately 4:45 p.m. Inmate Austin kicked the officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Austin will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

MILTON, Fla. – On July 6, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.

Inmate Jeovany Ortiz (135524) assaulted the officer at approximately 7:00 p.m. Inmate Ortiz hit the officer in the arm with his elbow. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Ortiz will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

OKEECHOBEE, Fla. – On July 7, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Okeechobee Correctional Institution.

Inmate Bernard Davis (A51157) assaulted the officer at approximately 1:45 p.m. Inmate Davis scratched and head-butted the officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Davis will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

RAIFORD, Fla. – On July 8, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida State Prison West.

Inmate Tyberious Robinson (Q20019) assaulted the officer at approximately 5:35 p.m. Inmate Robinson kicked the officer in the abdomen. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Robinson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
