FDC Assault Advisories | July 24 – July 30, 2018
This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.
DE FUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. – On July 24, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Walton Correctional Institution.
Inmate Arcenus Smith (B14557) assaulted the officer at approximately 12:25 p.m. Inmate Smith head-butted the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Smith will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
PERRY, Fla. – On July 24, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Taylor Work Camp.
Inmate Richard Jones (C02963) assaulted the officers at approximately 9:20 p.m. Inmate Jones head-butted one officer and kicked another officer’s leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Jones will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
PERRY, Fla. – On July 24, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Taylor Work Camp.
Inmate Jeremy Clarkston (133473) assaulted the officers at approximately 1:30 p.m. Inmate Clarkston kicked two officers in the legs. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Clarkston will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
JASPER, Fla. – On July 25, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Hamilton Annex.
Inmate Isaiah Rogers (N22751) assaulted the officer at approximately 5:45 p.m. Inmate Rogers grabbed the officer’s arm and attempted to pull it through his cell flap. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Rogers will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
ORLANDO, Fla. – On July 25, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Central Florida Reception Center.
Inmate Christian Gomez (K40016) assaulted the officer at approximately 1:25 p.m. Inmate Gomez head-butted the officer in the head. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Gomez will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
MALONE, Fla. – On July 25, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Jackson Correctional Institution.
Inmate Antwon Johnson (M64368) assaulted the officer at approximately 4:05 p.m. Inmate Johnson head-butted the officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Johnson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LAKE CITY, Fla. – On July 27, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Columbia Correctional Institution.
Inmate Calvin Washington (U55616) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:05 p.m. Inmate Washington punched the officer’s arm, shoulder and neck. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Blackwell will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
MADISON, Fla. – On July 27, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Madison Correctional Institution.
Inmate Willie Peterson (198620) assaulted the officer at approximately 1:07 p.m. Inmate Peterson kicked the officer’s leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Peterson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
CHIPLEY, Fla. – On July 28, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Northwest Florida Reception Center Annex.
Inmate Bobby Perkins (N32963) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:50 a.m. Inmate Perkins struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Perkins will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
SNEADS, Fla. – On July 29, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Apalachee Correctional Institution East.
Inmate Jacob Thomas (N04263) assaulted the officer at approximately 1:56 p.m. Inmate Thomas grabbed the officers arm. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Thomas will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
DE FUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. – On July 29, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Walton Correctional Institution.
Inmate Kenneth Kelly (L75908) assaulted the officer at approximately 5:25 p.m. Inmate Kelly grabbed and scratched the officer’s arm. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Kelly will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
MILTON, Fla. – On July 30, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Santa Rosa Work Camp.
Inmate Kyle Reno (S37054) assaulted the officer at approximately 1:10 a.m. Inmate Reno head-butted the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Reno will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
JASPER, Fla. – On July 30, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Hamilton Annex.
Inmate Dontay Lester (J17500) assaulted the officer at approximately 5:35 p.m. Inmate Lester punched the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Lester will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
AVON PARK, Fla. – On July 30, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Avon Park Correctional Institution.
Inmate Kalvin Youman (N18347) assaulted the officer at approximately 4:55 p.m. Inmate Youman grabbed the officer’s hand and slapped the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Youman will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
