This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.
CLERMONT, Fla. – On February 16, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Lake Correctional Institution.
Inmate Eric Taub (W43082) assaulted the officer at approximately 8:42 p.m. Inmate Taub head-butted the officer in the head. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Taub will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LAKE BUTLER, Fla. – On February 17, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Reception and Medical Center.
Inmate Paul Knight (063422) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:54 p.m. Inmate Knight elbowed the officer in the torso. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Knight will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – On February 20, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Charlotte Correctional Institution.
Inmate Maurice Bradley (537648) assaulted the officer at approximately 7:40 a.m. Inmate Bradley struck the officer in the face with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Bradley will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – On February 21, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Charlotte Correctional Institution.
Inmate Robert Jackson (M36104) assaulted the officer at approximately 3:10 p.m. Inmate Jackson threw the officer to the ground. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Jackson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
SNEADS, Fla. – On February 21, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Apalachee Correctional Institution.
Inmate Lewis Hawkins (V13209) assaulted the officer at approximately 7:14 p.m. Inmate Hawkins struck the officer in the head with his forearm. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Hawkins will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LAKE BUTLER, Fla. – On February 21, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Reception and Medical Center.
Inmate Dion Smith (295008) assaulted the officer at approximately 10:23 p.m. Inmate Smith kicked the officer in the stomach. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Smith will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
OCALA, Fla. – On February 22, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Marion Correctional Institution.
Inmate Scott Burleigh (B13910) assaulted the officer at approximately 10:00 a.m. Inmate Burleigh head-butted the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Burleigh will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LAKE BUTLER, Fla. – On February 24, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Reception and Medical Center.
Inmate Aron Galloway (U13345) assaulted the officer at approximately 7:10 a.m. Inmate Galloway became combative, kicking the officer several times. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Galloway will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
MILTON, Fla. – On February 24, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.
Inmate David Mann (Y17610) assaulted the officer at approximately 9:10 a.m. Inmate Mann head-butted the officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Mann will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
JASPER, Fla. – On February 26, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Hamilton Correctional Institution.
Inmate Chaz Dunlap (T64175) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:30 a.m. Inmate Dunlap threw the officer to the ground. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Dunlap will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
SNEADS, Fla. – On February 26, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Apalachee Correctional Institution.
Inmate Terrance Burke (X65770) assaulted the officer at approximately 10:40 a.m. Inmate Burke struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

OCALA, Fla. – On February 28, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Marion Correctional Institution.
Inmate Terrence Johnson (H43204) assaulted the officer at approximately 12:50 p.m. Inmate Johnson struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Johnson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
BUSHNELL, Fla. – On March 5, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Sumter Correctional Institution.
Inmate James Bradley (R02210) assaulted the officer at approximately 11:15 a.m. Inmate Bradley kicked the officer in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Bradley will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
WEWAHITCHKA, Fla. – On March 7, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Gulf Correctional Institution.
Inmate Charles Harden (371992) assaulted the officers at approximately 4:35 p.m. Inmate Harden struck the officers multiple times. Several other inmates attempted to block additional staff from assisting. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmates were subdued.
Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. The inmates will receive a disciplinary report for this assault, and the incident is also under investigation by the Department’s Office of Inspector General.
BUSHNELL, Fla. – On March 7, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Sumter Correctional Institution.
Inmate Ahmaan Wise-Wilkerson (157791) assaulted the officer at approximately 8:08 p.m. Inmate Wise-Wilkerson struck the officer in the head. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Wise-Wilkerson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LAKE CITY, Fla. – On March 8, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Columbia Correctional Institution.
Inmate Michael Booze (K53280) assaulted the officer at approximately 7:15 a.m. Inmate Booze struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Booze will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
CLERMONT, Fla. – On March 10, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Lake Correctional Institution.
Inmate Paul Barton (M96656) assaulted the officer at approximately 2:26 p.m. Inmate Barton kicked the officer in the torso. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

MILTON, Fla. – On March 12, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.
Inmate James Seay (613020) assaulted the officer at approximately 11:48 a.m. Inmate Seay struck the officer in the head. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Seay will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LAKE CITY, Fla. – On March 13, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Columbia Correctional Institution.
Inmate Hilbert Ellerbe (622486) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:18 p.m. Inmate Ellerbe bit the officer’s hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Ellerbe will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
ORLANDO, Fla. – On March 14, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Central Florida Reception Center.
Inmate Michael Kuster (S28104) assaulted the officer at approximately 3:40 p.m. Inmate Kuster struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

CLERMONT, Fla. – On March 15, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Lake Correctional Institution.
Inmate Timothy Sampson (H37481) assaulted the officer at approximately 8:25 p.m. Inmate Sampson struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
