This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.
Century Work Camp: On January 2, Inmate Phillip Reynolds (K54645) assaulted officers by kicking them in the jaw and striking them in the arm. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
DeSoto Annex: On January 3, Inmate Vincent Brooks (287052) assaulted officers by striking them in the face with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries.
Reception and Medical Center: On January 3, Inmate Richard Bowers (W29497) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Century Correctional Institution: On January 3, Inmate Gage Eastburn (Y90238) assaulted an officer by biting their left hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Suwannee Correctional Institution: On January 3, Inmate James Meredith (H41107) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face multiple times with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Lake Correctional Institution: On January 4, Inmate Samuel Higgins (U14665) assaulted officers by striking them in the face with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries.
Jackson Correctional Institution: On January 4, Inmate Brian White (V30103) assaulted an officer by striking them in the face multiple times with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Santa Rosa Annex: On January 5, Inmate Quantez Ealy (C03113) assaulted an officer by striking them in the shoulder. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Hardee Correctional Institution: On January 6, Inmate Jordan Bowie (T81120) assaulted an officer by pulling their hand through the cuffing portal and causing a laceration. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Desoto Annex: On January 6, Inmate Jasper Sanders (C90043) assaulted officers by kicking, scratching and striking them in the shoulder. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries.
Lake Correctional Institution: On January 6, Inmate Deshon Williams (K40435) assaulted an officer by twisting their fingers. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Century Correctional Institution: On January 6, Inmate Tyller Heyen (S32499) assaulted an officer by pinning his hand between a door and door jamb. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Wakulla Annex: On January 6, Inmate Willie Hayes (M41502) assaulted an officer by kicking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Apalachee Correctional Institution: On January 7, Inmate Kelvin Johnson (W13361) assaulted an officer by striking their hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
