MADISON, FL – The North Florida Community College Public Safety Academy is planning its next Correctional Basic Recruit class and invites potential students to an orientation session on Monday, June 19 at 5 p.m. The upcoming class, expected to begin in August, needs at least 12 students enrolled to begin training. Classes are held Monday-Thursday from 6-11 p.m. and the program takes approximately six months to complete.

The Public Safety Academy at NFCC is one of forty-one criminal justice training centers approved by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission to train basic recruits in law enforcement, corrections, recertification programs and continuing workforce education. NFCC students receive quality training and support to build a strong and honorable career in Corrections.
Correctional Officers, responsible for the supervision, care, custody, control and physical restraint, when necessary, of inmates in a Correctional Institution or facility, are currently in high demand for jobs across the state.
