Auto Crimes Task Force Makes Arrest in Eighteen Burglaries (Tallahassee)

Today, members of the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and Tallahassee Police Department joint
Auto Crimes Task Force arrested Cortez Brown 18, in connection with numerous burglaries in Tallahassee and Leon County.

Beginning on June 11, 2017, a combined fifteen (15) vehicles were burglarized while being
stored in the fenced in lots at Maaco Body Shop and Sheffield’s Body Shop. Both businesses
are located on West Pensacola Street. Members of the Auto Crimes Task Force were able to
locate evidence to implicate Brown in the burglaries.

Brown was located at a residence at 3535 Roberts Avenue and taken into custody without
incident. He was subsequently turned over to the Leon County Detention Facility
