TCSO Arrests Fugitive (John Shaw)

Earlier today, Deputies were dispatched to the area of Highway 98 approximately 4 miles west of Rockys Store in reference to a suspicious white male.

While traveling down Highway 98 approximately 4 miles from Rockys, Deputy Thigpen observed a white male matching the description given. The subject had an orange shirt around his neck and was wearing blue jeans. The subject was also hanging on the side of a log truck attempting to get a ride from a trucker. Upon attempting to make contact the subject fled westbound into the woods on foot.

Numerous Deputies arrived and assisted with a perimeter, while Deputy Thigpen and DOC K-9 tracked the subject westbound through the woods. The subject was apprehended approximately less than a mile from the original location on a dirt road off of Highway 98. The subject was identified as John Shaw DOB-11/09/1987, who was wanted with a Felony VOP warrant (Grand Theft Motor Vehicle) and was taken into custody and transported to the Taylor County Jail without further incident. John Shaw was also charged with F.S. 843.02 RESISTING WITHOUT VIOLENCE.
