****Attention****

At approximately 12:50 a MCSO School Resource Deputy received a report that a “couple” possible gun shots were heard at an estimated distance of 2 or 3 miles west of the Madison Creative Arts Academy campus.

In accordance with safety protocol and abundance of caution the Madison Creative Arts Acadamy initiated “Shelter In Place” while multiple deputies responded to check the campus and surrounding areas for any type of activity. There was no suspicious activity, people or sounds identified. The MCCA Gaurdian was on campus during this time and Staff Sergeant Maurice Alexander along with Major David Harper both arrived within 1 minute of being notified.

The “Shelter In Place” has been since lifted to resume normal school related activities. Thank you for your attention.

Major David Harper
