The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of recent Scam attempts where the perpetrators are representing themselves Tri-County Electric Cooperative Inc. and have been targeting commercial accounts in the Greenville area during the last twenty-four hours.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office along with Tri-County Electric Cooperative Inc would like to remind TCEC members to continue to use caution. TCEC will never require members to make a payment over the phone with a pre-paid card or by money order. TCEC will never require payments outside of normal 8-5 business hours.
Please be advised that Tri-County Electric Cooperative will never demand payment over the phone or aggressively threaten to disconnect service. If you receive this type of phone call you are encouraged to hang up and call Tri-County at (850) 973-2285 or (800) 999-2285.
