The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has identified Lacey Lashay Myers as an individual who is traveling around Madison County and surrounding counties attempting to receive money by claiming to need financial assistance for her child or children.
Myers offers many different stories but the two most common are that her children’s father has committed suicide in another state or her children suffer from cancer and she needs financial assistance for treatments and medications. It has been confirmed that Myers has been operating in Madison County since at least March of this year.
Myers mainly targets Churches on Sunday or Wednesday but has also went door to door on various days of the week. Myers is described as a white female in her late twenties to mid thirties with brown or blonde hair. She has been observed driving a yellow Volkswagen or a Silver Dodge truck with possible Georgia tags. It is believed that Myers lives in Valdosta or Hahira, GA.
If you are contacted by this individual please DO NOT give her any money or allow her to enter your residence. Please call the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center (850-973-4001) immediately. If you have already been a victim of this individual and wish to file an official report or can provide additional information please call the Madison County Sheriff’s Administrations Office (850-973-4151) Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm. Please reference your complaint as Lacey Myers Scam and your information will be forwarded to the assigned Investigator. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
