Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointments of Chris Anderson, Vikki Cannon, JD Peacock and Doug Chorvat to the Restoration of Voting Rights Task Force.
Chris Anderson
Anderson, of Orlando, is the Seminole County Supervisor of Elections, a role he was appointed to by Governor DeSantis in January 2019. Prior to serving as Supervisor of Elections, Chris was the Chief Investigative Officer for the Seminole County Tax Collector. In that role, he managed a team of revenue officers to ensure the safety of the citizens at the tax collector’s office. He also oversaw all inspector general services in the office. He is also a former Seminole County Sheriff’s Deputy and Background Investigator. Anderson graduated from Columbia College with a degree in criminal justice.
Vikki Cannon
Cannon, of Fernandina Beach, is the Nassau County Supervisor of Elections, a position she has held since 2000. She served as the clerk of the City of Fernandina Beach for nearly eighteen years. Vicki is a member of the YMCA Board of Directors and the founding president of Friends of Fort Clinch. Vicki served as the past vice-chair of the United Way Allocation Committee for Nassau County. Cannon earned her certified municipal clerk certification from the Institute of Government at Florida State University.
JD Peacock
Peacock, of Shalimar, is the Okaloosa County Clerk of the Court, a position he has held since 2014. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry from 1984-1988 and worked for the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office from 1989-2014. He is a Director for the Okaloosa/Walton Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and a member of the Okaloosa Republican Club. Peacock earned his bachelor’s degree in applied science and public service management from Northwest Florida State College and completed his training as a Certified Public Manager with Florida State University.
Doug Chorvat
Chorvat, of Brooksville, is the Hernando County Clerk of Court, a position he has held since 2018. Previously, Doug managed both the Clerk and County technology departments. For a period of two years, Doug also served as the Records Management Liaison Officer to the State of Florida for the Clerk and the County. Chorvat earned his bachelor’s degree in management information systems from the University of South Florida. He was the first Certified Government Chief Information Officer in Hernando County, completing a two-year program through the Florida Institute of Government in 2011. He also was one of the first three Certified Public Managers in Hernando County, completing that program through the Florida Center for Public Management in 2017.
