FDC Assault Advisories | June 26 – July 2, 2018

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.

LIVE OAK, Fla. – On June 26, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Suwannee Correctional Institution.

Inmate Omar Galarza (U31856) assaulted the officers at approximately 12:15 a.m. Inmate Galarza kicked one officer in the leg and struck another in the arm. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Galarza will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

SNEADS, Fla. – On June 26, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Apalachee Correctional Institution East.

Inmate Kenny Dorvil (Y16137) assaulted the officer at approximately 11:57 p.m. Inmate Dorvil struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Dorvil will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

JASPER, Fla. – On June 28, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Hamilton Annex.

Inmate Jeffrey Nelson (199489) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:20 p.m. Inmate Nelson struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Nelson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

RAIFORD, Fla. – On June 29, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida State Prison.

Inmate Thomas Partlow (J42484) assaulted the officer at approximately 7:59 p.m. Inmate Partlow head-butted the officer in the chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Partlow will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

DE FUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. – On June 30, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Walton Correctional Institution.

Inmate Omar Cofield (M60072) assaulted the officer at approximately 7:05 a.m. Inmate Cofield struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Cofield will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

OCALA, Fla. – On June 30, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Lowell Annex.

Inmate Terra Olson (U32408) assaulted the officer at approximately 9:39 a.m. Inmate Olson bit the officer’s hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Olson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

RAIFORD, Fla. – On July 1, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida State Prison.

Inmate William Fleming (J41571) assaulted the officer at approximately 12:28 p.m. Inmate Fleming grabbed the officer and attempted to pull him into the cell’s bars. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Jacob will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

MADISON, Fla. – On July 1, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Madison Correctional Institution.

Inmate Brandon Kern (X49004) assaulted the officer at approximately 5:30 p.m. Inmate Kern struck the officer in the chest with his shoulder. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Kern will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

CENTURY, Fla. – On July 2, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Century Correctional Institution.

Inmate Rashud Dexter (A50718) assaulted the officers at approximately 11:00 a.m. Inmate Dexter became combative and caused injury two officers. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Dexter will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

BONIFAY, Fla. – On July 2, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Holmes Correctional Institution.

Inmate Carlos Woodson (411753) assaulted the officers at approximately 1:20 p.m. Inmate Woodson punched one officer in the head multiple times and another in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Woodson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

FLORIDA CITY, Fla. – On July 2, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Dade Correctional Institution.

Inmate Bruce Howard (089208) assaulted the officer at approximately 2:00 p.m. Inmate Howard struck the officer in the torso. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Howard will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
