FDC Assault Advisories | June 12 – June 18, 2018

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.

CHIPLEY, Fla. – On June 12, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Northwest Florida Reception Center Annex.

Inmate Ray Combs (553333) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:40 p.m. Inmate Combs pulled the officer to the ground. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Combs will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – On June 12, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Tomoka Correctional Institution.

Inmate Griffin Billingsley (893275) assaulted the officers at approximately 10:10 p.m. Inmate Billingsley kicked one officer in the leg and another in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Billingsley will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

CENTURY, Fla. – On June 13, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Century Correctional Institution.

Inmate Ryan McCullough (132540) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:10 a.m. Inmate McCullough scratched the officer’s arm. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate McCullough will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

MILTON, Fla. – On June 14, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.

Inmate Demetrius Brookins (T34758) assaulted the officer at approximately 4:35 p.m. Inmate Brookins bit the officer’s arm. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Brookins will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

WEWAHITCKA, Fla. – On June 14, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Gulf Annex.

Inmate Anthony Peoples (P26276) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:00 p.m. Inmate Peoples struck the officer in the head. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Peoples will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

BOWLING GREEN, Fla. – On June 14, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Hardee Correctional Institution.

Inmate Marion Watts (J39083) assaulted the officer at approximately 9:45 p.m. Inmate Watts head-butted the officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Watts will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

BONIFAY, Fla. – On June 15, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Holmes Correctional Institution.

Inmate Johnnie Gettis (123076) assaulted the officer at approximately 9:56 a.m. Inmate Gettis punched the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Gettis will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

ARCADIA, Fla. – On June 16, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Desoto Annex.

Inmate Joseph Fowler (149404) assaulted the officer at approximately 12:53 a.m. Inmate Fowler bit the officer’s hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Fowler will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

RAIFORD, Fla. – On June 17, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida State Prison West.

Inmate Junior Martinez (D47833) assaulted the officer at approximately 3:27 a.m. Inmate Martinez kicked the officer in the knee. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Martinez will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

ARCADIA, Fla. – On June 17, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Desoto Annex.

Inmate Justin Howard (D29959) assaulted the officer at approximately 12:15 p.m. Inmate Howard struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Howard will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

MAYO, Fla. – On June 18, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Mayo Annex.

Inmate Donovan Mendenhall (A50386) assaulted the officers at approximately 1:10 p.m. Inmate Mendenhall bit one officer’s foot and kicked another in the chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Mendenhall will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

MILTON, Fla. – On June 18, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Santa Rosa Annex.

Inmate Daniel Wessell (C00213) assaulted the officers at approximately 12:00 p.m. Inmate Wessell punched and kicked the officers. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Wessell will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
