FDC Assault Advisories | January 8 – January 14, 2018
This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.
Lake Correctional Institution: On January 8, inmate Marcel Bolanos (Q80023) assaulted an officer at approximately 11:45 a.m. Inmate Bolanos grabbed the officer’s head and pulled them downward. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Inmate Bolanos will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Sumter Correctional Institution: On January 8, inmate Osmani Paula (X91908) assaulted an officer at approximately 7:55 p.m. Inmate Paula headbutted the officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Paula will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Columbia Work Camp: On January 9, inmate Joel Goldsmith (K70856) assaulted an officer at approximately 5:15 p.m. Inmate Goldsmith punched the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Goldsmith will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Dade Correctional Institution: On January 10, inmate Ryan Propp (U36810) assaulted an officer at approximately 9:15 p.m. Inmate Propp became disruptive and attacked a responding officer. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Inmate Propp will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Mayo Annex: On January 12, inmate Medgar Samuel (098223) assaulted two officers at approximately 5:30 a.m. Inmate Samuel struck and kicked the officers multiple times. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Samuel will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Okaloosa Correctional Institution: On January 12, inmate Reginald Spivey (794007) assaulted an officer at approximately 12:04 p.m. Inmate Spivey threw a food tray at the officer, striking them in the back. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Inmate Spivey will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Taylor Annex: On January 13, inmate Gephtherson Loussaint (L77944) assaulted an officer at approximately 2:48 a.m. Inmate Loussaint kicked the officer in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Inmate Loussaint will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Zephyrhills Correctional Institution: On January 13, inmate Antonio Falcon (S33432) assaulted an officer at approximately 9:37 a.m. Inmate Falcon struck an officer while they were removing his restraints. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Inmate Falcon will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Florida Women’s Reception Center: On January 14, inmate America Hernandez (U06360) assaulted an officer at approximately 9:32 a.m. Inmate Hernandez scratched the officer on the forearm. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Inmate Hernandez will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On January 14, inmate Jonathan Bell (128032) assaulted multiple officers at approximately 10:52 a.m. Inmate Bell became disruptive and attacked responding officers. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Bell will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
