FDC Assault Advisories | April 24 – April 30, 2018
This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – On April 24, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Charlotte Correctional Institution.
Inmate John Burns (721968) assaulted the officer at approximately 9:03 a.m. Inmate Burns pulled the officer’s hand through his call flap. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Burns will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
DE FUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. – On April 24, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Walton Correctional Institution.
Inmate Frederick Hunter (W47112) assaulted the officer at approximately 3:10 p.m. Inmate Hunter bit the officer’s arm. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Hunter will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
CLERMONT, Fla. – On April 25, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Lake Correctional Institution.
Inmate Charles Hawks (X71962) assaulted the officer at approximately 7:25 a.m. Inmate Hawks head-butted the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Hawks will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
BONIFAY, Fla. – On April 26, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Holmes Correctional Institution.
Inmate Chance Terrill (S38092) assaulted the officer at approximately 11:40 a.m. Inmate Terrill kicked the officer in the knee. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Terrill will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.

Inmate Aaron Beckworth (128259) assaulted the officer at approximately 1:30 p.m. Inmate Beckworth punched the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Beckworth will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
SANDERSON, Fla. – On April 27, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Baker Correctional Institution.
Inmate Akeem Williams (P55975) assaulted the officer at approximately 8:30 p.m. Inmate Williams punched the officer in the face and stabbed the officer’s hand using a makeshift weapon. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Williams will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
CLERMONT, Fla. – On April 27, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Lake Correctional Institution.
Inmate Kristopher Rodriguez (C07499) assaulted the officer at approximately 1:20 p.m. Inmate Rodriguez punched the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Rodriguez will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LAKE BUTLER, Fla. – On April 28, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at the Reception and Medical Center.
Inmate Piesus Reynolds (M34277) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:25 p.m. Inmate Reynolds struck the officer in the head. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Reynolds will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
CROSS CITY, Fla. – On April 29, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Cross City Correctional Institution.
Inmate Richard Beauchamp (P02307) assaulted the officers at approximately 1:45 p.m. Inmate Beauchamp bit one officer and battered several others. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Beauchamp will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
JASPER, Fla. – On April 30, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Hamilton Annex.
Inmate Jovens Esperance (B11937) assaulted the officer at approximately 1:30 p.m. Inmate Esperance struck the officer in the head. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Inmate Esperance will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
CROSS CITY, Fla. – On April 30, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Cross City Correctional Institution.
Inmate Alexis Lopez (M96594) assaulted the officer at approximately 7:40 p.m. Inmate Lopez struck the officer in the back. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Lopez will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
