News Release (December 11, 2018)

Major David Harper of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Deputy Josh Anderson stopped a silver sedan on Colin Kelly highway, south of N.E. Ellwood Cypress Street, in Pinetta for unlawful speed.

The sedan pulled into a driveway and the driver, Elizabeth Bush and her male passenger, immediately exited the sedan. Both began reaching back inside the vehicle. Deputy Anderson ordered the subjects to stop reaching inside the car and to step to the rear of the vehicle. Bush and her passenger complied with instructions.

Bush placed her purse on the hood of Deputy Anderson’s patrol vehicle and told Deputy Anderson that she did not have a driver license. Deputy Anderson was able to confirm that Bush’s driver license was suspended in 2016 and that Bush had knowledge of the suspension.

Deputy Anderson placed Bush under arrest for driving with a suspended license. During a search of her purse, Deputy Anderson located two small plastic bags both containing a crystal-like substance along with 46 pills identified to be Xanax and Klonopin. Bush admitted that the crystal substance was Methamphetamine.

There was no other contraband located and the passenger was released without charges.
