Attorney General Bondi Takes Legal Action Against Online Designer Eyewear Sales Company

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.––Attorney General Pam Bondi today filed a court action against Luxury Retail Sawgrass, LLC d/b/a Sunglass Oasis and its owner, Samuel Florens, for deceptive and unfair trade practices regarding the online sale of designer eyewear. According to the complaint, over 100 consumers ordered eyewear from Sunglass Oasis’ online store and never received eyewear after making payment. Other consumers received eyewear but not the eyewear they purchased.

In both instances, consumers tried to contact the defendants regarding the status of replacement eyewear or promised refunds. The defendants failed to respond to consumer phone calls, sent automatic replies to consumer email inquiries that were not followed up on, and eventually ceased all communications with consumers.

The lawsuit filed by Attorney General Bondi’s Consumer Protection Division alleges a violation of Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.
